Here's one for the avid local hiphop fan. Summer wouldn't be complete without The Community. Unfortunately, we won't be doing it this year. We want y'all to miss us for minute, organizing an event like this for the past 3 years has definitely been one of our greatest achievements as a scene. Thank you to you, and to the people who came and supported each one of them the past 3 years. Here's a mixtape of live performances from The Community 2 and Fete De La Musique circa 2007 which includes tracks by Peoples Future, Dcoy, Sinag, Diwata, Los Indios Bravoz, Audible, RonThug, PKSO, Nathan J and more! Unfortunately, we didn't put Chrizo jokes in this CD, maybe next time! The Community 1 CD will be out sooner or later. Hehehe, I know its been awhile as well but we'll keep you posted. Don't forget there's also a DVD of it pending.

Marq and I have been very excited about this movie for a while now. We were supposed to watch it yesterday because when we checked online we found out that it was already showing at ATC. Too bad when we got there they changed the opening date to today. haha! We settled for He's Just Not That Into You which turned out to be a fun movie.

We really had to watch Street Fighter so we returned to the mall today to watch it. The moment the movie started I knew it was gonna be bad. Can someone please explain to me why the hell is Ken Chinese? And whats up with the dialogue? Whoever wrote the script of this movie should never be allowed to write again. I seriously thought that this would be way better than the first movie given that they had some pretty decent actors in the cast but I was wrong. Everything just felt awkward and very scripted. Delivery was bad, the camera was bad even the filters used in the film. Oh and by the way Ken had magical powers in this movie. Haha!

Don't watch it! Save your money for the other crappy movie of the year: Dragon Ball where Goku is a white kid.

Seriously though, just don't!

Its Valentines day. woohoo! I spent half the day sleeping then at around 8pm Marq and I went to the studio. Pretty unusual way to spend valentines day but I had fun. Chrizo treated us to KFC, Phd provided entertainment with his sarcasm and Marquiss recorded 2 tracks. I on the other hand was busy taking behind the scene videos, pictures, and some HTML coding on Chrizo's site. Haha! What a nerd! Ended the night at Starbucks talking about the teams future plans. A lot of stuff in store for the listeners this year so hold on tight! The shoot for the I Choose You video starts in 2 weeks. Its gonna be a busy year for all. I'm stoked!

I give this movie 5 stars. The whole movie was so exciting I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. The start of the movie reminded of Call of Duty. It was like the game came to life. Haha! Although there were some mistakes with regards to continuity like, Shortly after the bombing attempt against Hitler, Col von Stauffenberg is standing in an office at the Ministry and the camera pulls out to reveal both hands intact, including all his fingers. He is supposed to have lost one of his hands and 2 fingers off his other hand. I enjoyed it a lot.

I'm a nerd and I know it. 80% of my TV time is spent on watching National Geographic or The Discovery Chanel. So imagine how happy I was to find this on the web. I was on the site the whole day just watching.

LDP Album Launch

We left for The Fort last night because Marquiss was supposed to open for LDP at club called Jaipur. Got there just in time, but to our surprise there was another event happening in the same venue. I am not really the clubbing type. I hate sweaty people in my personal space, skanky girls who wear little to nothing, the snotty people at the door and bouncers. There were so many people in the club who did not even know what was going on. I think they were mostly underage too (I even herd someone in the crowd say "I think they're having a showdown"). Haha! They were playing trance music inside the club when its supposed to be LDP's album launch.

I don't mind going to clubs if its to support friends who do music but last night was different. LDP's launch was supposed to start at 9:30pm and end at 2:30am, but that obviously did not happen. They rented out the club at those times which means that the club shouldn't have scheduled another event at the same time. None of the performers opening for them were able to go on stage that night. LDP was supposed to perform prolly around 9 songs but instead they got to do only 1 song and then they were cut off by the club owners only because there were a lot of people who came for the other event. I think thats very disrespectful. I feel bad for LDP... its the worst thing that could happen during your album launch. The owners of Prince of Jaipur are some greedy ass mother f*****s!

Phd - The Most Anticipated Produced by Traumatik

A small chat with then relatively unknown producer Chrizo in 2003 jump started the career of PhD. They created what would turn out to be a classic joint, “Blazin’ Microphones”, and caught the attention of Turbulence Productions’ head, B-Roc, at a competition. After recording “Hymn of Love”, a song about how hip-hop should be violence-free and brotherhood using a sick “Asin” sample, B-Roc signed PhD and the song’s producer, Traumatik, onto his label in 2004. He then appeared in “B-Sides” and once again collaborated with Chrizo, who lent his Midas’ Touch for the track, “Superb Wit Words”. 2007 marked the release of a limited-edition 10-track CD, “Knowledge Born”. He is also featured on the “5 Stars Mixtape”, released in 2005, as well as the 2008 releases “Tippin’ The Scales” and “Thinking Man’s Hiphop”, collaborating with 7 Shots of Wisdom emcee Mario for the latter. He is also serving as Turbulence Productions A&R and oversees the releases of the label.

Seven Pounds

We have been wanting to watch a movie since the week started but the movies at the mall are all crappy. And I mean 5-cinemas-with-3-showing-low-budget-shit-plus-one-Filipino-movie crappy.

Filipino movies suck! PERIOD! And yes, pun intended. From the shitty titles to the storyline to the cinematography to the actors to the acting to the effects. Everything! The whole Filipino movie scene (and TV) is a joke. If the story isn't ripped off, its been played out. Plus the actors... they keep on using the same ones again and again. The bad thing is they keep on using actors who cant even act. It seems like they pick out some good looking (sometimes not even) kid from no where, and without even proper training force them to act, sing and dance. this is evident in all the noon time variety shows and Filipino Tele-novelas.

I think the only Filipino movies that deserve to be played in the cinemas are the ones from the Indie scene. The ones with, substance, originality and creativity. Or just go to CCP to watch a play. Its way better than forcing yourself to sit through crap. Trust me, I watched ISKUL BUKOL during the recent Manila Film Festival out of curiosity. I thought it was gonna be good because its the first time I considered watching a Filipino movie. I'M NEVER DOING IT AGAIN! EVER!
Don't hate, you know its true! FIX IT!

Ive strayed so far from topic that I hardly remember what it is. Haha!

Ok, SEVEN POUNDS... We actually just settled for it because it was the most decent one, and because Friday is movie night, we had to pick. All I knew about it was it was a drama, and I don't watch dramas. I'm an action, thriller, fantasy, adventure, sci-fi type of girl. But the movie was great. It started out as confusing then it all became clear towards the end. The movie was not really long but it seemed like it because its story progressed very slowly. I spent 3/4 of the movie in a state of confusion before I understood the whole thing. Will Smith's acting was very good too, He always had a very unsure look in all of his scenes, as if something was bothering him, holding him back. And its for good reason, which was explained in the end. I don't really wanna spoil it for those who haven't seen it so thats all im saying.

All in all I enjoyed it. I even cried because it was so touching. Marq turned to look at me just as tears were dripping down my face. Hes annoying. He laughed. I am forever gonna be teased by him. Haha! Watch it!

My First Official XBOX 360 game!!!

I finally got myself a game for my XBOX360. I bought me an XBOX during my recent trip to L.A. last November. Since I got back home, Ive been contemplating weather or not I want to have my system converted. And I have finally reached a decision... NOO WAY! I don't want the xbox live feature to be put to waste. So I've been borrowing games from Marq but unfortunately he has a Japanese xbox, and the only thing I could borrow from him was Call of Duty 2. I could have bought me some games but I kept on putting it off because I been splurging on other stuff. haha! So this afternoon Marq got me Bully, a game which he highly recommends.

Bully is from the same maker of of Grand Theft Auto. In the game you play 15 year old Jimmy Hopkins, a juvenile delinquent who is sent to Bullworth Academy boarding school.

Kinda reminds me of myself when i was a bully in highschool..hehe

The whole gang was at Bagaberde at Roxas boulevard last night to support a PLM Charity event directed at donating ECG machines and wheelchairs to hospitals. Its nice to start the year doing good and this was an opportunity for Turbulence to do that. God's Will, Marquiss, Hotnixx and nimbus9 ended the show with a bang with the help of the UP Endayo dancers. Overall the night was a success with a lot of merchandise sold. This is gonna be a good year for Turbulence. HA!

Gone For A Month

Ok, so my posts on here have long been due cause I've been super busy for the past month. I left Manila on October 30 and ever since then i been living on the couch of my cousin's house. my flight back home is on December 2 but I arrive on the 4th due to the time difference. Overall, my vacation here has been amazing! I visited states on the east and west coasts of the country. i saw all the relatives that i wanted to see.. got me all the cool stuff i wanted! Shopped till i dropped... now i only have 4 dollars in my wallet. haha! it was worth it. i was able to get everyone "pasalubongs". I came here on a mission, to find a school or to find work. I found a nice school to continue my studies on art. Everyone here has been forcing me to extend my stay. I could have done that but i decided to just go home. Although it was fun, I just couldn't help but miss my family, Mark, my house my bed! Plus i just want to spend Christmas in manila. Theres no place like home...

I think this place is better than Coffee Bean just cause there were only 3 people when we were there this afternoon. Haha! Chrizo showed us the his brother's StarWars room, which may I say is the biggest collection of StarWars memorabilia I've ever seen. After that I watched my boy Mark play 6 half court basketball games with the boys. It took like 2 hours for them to finish and when they finally did Mark and I played a game of billiards.☻ I then cooked pasta for the bunch. Oh, and my boy did some help with the chopping, hehe. Dinner turned out well. Then, being that it was team building that we came for, TanTan talked about vision and how important it is for the team and as an individual. We went home after that. Everyone else stayed for another day. The experience was fun. We enjoyed and at the same time we learned. Maybe next time we could stay longer.

My dad came home all hyper today. He went straight to his room and when he came out he was wearing a basketball jersey. hahaha! turns out they have an office league and hes so excited to play. He went on and on talking about how good of a player he was during his prime. Then he went to the kitchen to show my mom some basketball moves while she was cooking. It was so funny watching him pretend to dribble an imaginary ball between his legs. Oh! and he was bragging about how he got the #23 first before anyone could. I couldn't stop laughing. GTR has turned into Jordan.

Ze movie finished quite early so we decided to chill somewhere before going home. Ended up at Perk Avenue in BF cause umm... people who hang at Starbucks are just plain annoying... not that I don't hang out there at times. The place was nice and quiet, just the way i like it, but their coffee was baaaad. I don't think I'm ever gonna go back there. The south really needs a place thats just relaxed. These days everywhere i look theres a bar or a club being built around here. Its funny how BF people actually get dressed to go to a bar thats just 2 blocks away from their home. I think its stupid and corny and stupid.

The past couple of months, I've been googling on ways to setup a NES emulator on my PSP. I like doing things like this on my own rather than paying someone to do it for me cause im a nerd like that. Anyway, in my search i found this great add-on to Firefox that lets you play old school NES games inside the browser. It comes with 2000++ games in it already so all you really need to do is download the add-on and your ready to go. Oh yeah, at first i thought it dint work but all you gotta do is double-click on the game window to activate it

Recently got me a copy of OZ, an HBO TV series that came out in 1997.
At first I was comparing it to my favorite TV series ever, THE WIRE because it had the same feel to it but i realized it wasn't as real. Its not as grimy as i want it to be but it kinda grew on me... with the help of some familiar faces like J.D. Williams, Frankie R. Faison & Edie Falco.

OZ is short for Oswald Maximum Security Correctional Facility. Its where Tim McManus handles an experimental unit called Emerald City where the Italians, gangsters, homeboys, Muslims, Irish, Latinos, the Gays and the Brotherhood try to make it out the prison in one piece... hopefully. Narrated by the wheelchair-bound Augustus Hill, its funny, exciting and at often times just plain shocking.
